My first post. My apologies if I mess up. 225 hrs trouble free. Changed engine and gear oil two tmes a season and flush the engine after each use. What is the expected service life of the fuel pump, water pump, and timing belt? The engine is going in for its 200 hour service, what if anything shall I request to have done that is not required according to the owner's manual?
Also salt water seems to always find its way through the cowling and onto the aft parts of the engine, any suggestions as to how I can renedy water intrusion?
Thank you.

at 200hr, engine oil and filter, fuel filter , and all the cooling system.
check the bonding wires.
its all in the marine tech guide.
ask for a copy of the page labeled 4stroke carb service.
on the water intrusion check the lower cowl to midsection seal and the lower cowl drains. check the hood seal and after that keep the motor from taking waves.
what application is this 25 hp on ?
and model numbers always help.

Rodbolt, Thank you!
the model number is F25ELHZ. I was planning on having the water pump changed, is that what you mean by all the cooling system?
By water intrusion I mean every time the I use the boat I would find salt spray by the fuel pump area. I checked the seals and so did the dealer. It all looks good, so I am at loss. I was wondering if there is un upgraded version of the cover I can use. The engine is on 15' custome built runabout usually run at from 1/4 to 3/4 throtle setting, with the occasional WOT for a few minutes or whenever possible. No waves have crashed over the engine so far, Thank God! a couple came close. Thaks again for the info.

if the engine is mounted to low it creates a spray that is directed at the motor. I have made some shields from rubber floormats to aid in deflecting water but you have to let air into the hood from someplace and on yours its at the upper aft end of the hood.have your dealer give you a copy of pages 1-32 and 1-33 from the 2005 marine tech guide with service items performed checked off.
that way there is no misunderstanding of what was done when or why.
