I want to change the plugs for this upcoming season and not sure how to make sure the plugs are indexed correctly. There is a notch on the engine block but the plugs do not always tighten up when aligned. Is there a trick to this , can i remove the spacer/washer on the plug to make it line up?

You don't need to be exact, just as long as the open end of the spark plug electrode faces the injector in about a 210 degree arc you should be all right, but I would try for within a 90 degree arc myself. You only run into problems when there is more closed than open end facing the injector.

If a plug won't line up when in the torque range on one side of the cylinder bank, try the other side. Don't discard the washer or add spacer washers.
