Ok so i bought a 2002 20.6 Key Largo CC. The boat has the manufactured w/ 2002 Mercury 150hp EFI saltwater. Well the fuel pump wasn't triggering one of its contacts to (-). So it was determined through multiple tests that the ECM is bad. So in order to not spend 900$ or more on an ECM i ran my own relay pack that is key turn triggered to turn my fuel pump contact to (-). Do i risk any issue with this. It so far has been running fine. I assume that the fuel pump is run by a vacuum and has nothing to do with the ECM. I think the ECM is only a relay box (please correct me if i am wrong). I got stranded the other day but that was due to a bum water pump. Let me know what you all think.
