Hi guys, I’m a first time boat owner (1992 Crest ll). I’ve had the pontoon for just over a month and already replaced the ECU, Voltage regulator and a fuel line. After that the boat has been running good.
A couple days ago, I was out on the river For and hour before I hit a couple 2-3 ft waves. There was a single beep the the engine cut out. I was able to start it right back up. After 30 minutes of putzing around the river, I gave it more gas and I heard another beep then the motor shut off. This happened about 3 more times, just trying to get back. I finally waited for a tow back. While waiting, I did notice oil pooling around the outside of the motor and a noise that kicked it for a couple minutes that almost sounded like a sump. I can fumble my way through some of this stuff but I’m stumped and a bit frustrated right now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate.
