I have a 2002 Mariner 35. I have a question to other Mariner owners. It appears that my boat has a noticable list to the bow. Maybe list is not the right word, but it appears to be sloped forward. No, I don't have any water in the bildge. What I do have is about 100 ft. of anchor CHAIN. Could that cause a significant weight difference to pull the bow down a little. I also notice whenever it rains water on the bridge collects near the hatch behind the captians chair. Any ideas what is going on?

Re: 2002 Carver Mariner

I have a 1985 Carver 3607MY Aft Cabin.
I too had a slight, but noticable list, but to "starboard". The problem for my boat is the floor plan. All of the galley appliances are to the starboard side. That is ; refrig, stove, sink, cabinets filled with dishes and cooking utensils, etc. That is a considerable amount of weight. To compensate, I keep 20 to 25 gal LESS gas in the starboard tank. That acting as balast, leveled the beam out nicely.

Thanks for the info, but my problem is the boats attirude lists to the bow. I think that the 100 ft or more of ANCHOR CHAIN has something to do with this. Carver wasn't helpful when I asked them about it. Otherwise, the boat is even on the port and starboard sides.

Bow down at rest is normal for this boat. Mine (1999 350 Mariner) does the same thing as do all others. I even removed all the anchor rode, emptied the freash water holding tank, filled both fuel tanks, and she still sits bow down. Just a design thing. Most of us that have carpet on the upper level remove it when it rains as water runs toward the bow and the carpet gets wet. I also have water that stands on both oiutside steps and swim platform due to the forward rake. Get used to it. It's a great boat and we love it!

Thanks for the reply. I have all the same issues you raised; and I am getting used to them. It's really no big deal, because like you said, it's a great boat.
