Hello all,
Two months ago I repowered my 82 Whaler outrage with a 200hp Merc, two stroke.
Before I state the problem, I'll let you know, I got this from One Outboard, who rebuild outboards and put new rings, bearings, etc in, supposedly. I had called them recently because I had a slight whine when in neutral after motor heated up. They told me it was fine.
SOOOO, today I take it out, starts up like normal, I warm it up and get going. I'm going full throttle for a minute or so and it shuts off. So I tried starting it and it started right back up, so I throttle up for 30 seconds and same thing happens. It starts back up fine, but I notice a sort of knocking, not really loud, but noticeable. So I baby it back to the dock and here I am.
Any ideas??
Also, don't know if this matters, but I can only usually get about 5,200 RPMs out of it, I'm told around 6k at full throttle is normal for a Merc.
