My 200hp ox 66 seems to have an electrical problem. The speed/fuel gage went haywire and then the motor started to lose power like it was not getting any fuel. To make matters worse, when I finally got it to the boat ramp, the trim would not work and the motor would not start again. Could the computer in the motor be shot ?

what part of the ECU controls the trim?

I have no idea. I can't understand why it would effect the trim unless there are multiple issues.

I would suspect a bad connection of the battery cables. do you have a multimeter ?
on that motor the ECU can attempt to work with voltage down to about 9V the fuel pump and injectors quit below 9Volts or so.

Thanks for your help. The boat is at my mechanic's now. I will ask him to check the battery and the voltage. I did replace both batteries this past spring.

never said it was a battery problem, the batteries are simply a power source.
however since the trim is affected as well I would look at all the connections between the engine and the battery terminals.
thats assuming the batteries can actually provide the required current at 12volts.
