Hello, can someone tell me if this is a normal occurance for a 2002 Trophy to get water in the aft bilge while motoring around? I have made sure the access hatch is closed tight. But water still get into the bilge eventhough there is absolutely no water in the cockpit, in the fish wells, or in the bait tank. Thanks.

Is the intrusion only when boating or does it take water on when sitting or drifting? This should not be normal. If I understand your post, you are not running the baitwell pump. The baitwell system has been a source of water intrusion for my 2002. I would start by closing the baitwell seacock valve and seeing if that makes a difference.

No I have not drifted the boat or sitting around long enough to check on the water yet. And no, the baitwell was not running because I did not have the seacock valve opened. But after about like 20 minutes running, I could see that the bilge pump could pump out like a couple quarts of water. I know that there are leaks into the bilge from under drain holes' flange. So the water could be backing up into the drain scupper, then leak into the bilge from under the flanges. But I don't think so. Or maybe the access hatch does not seal well. I guess I'll look into this problem more. I don't want to rely on the bilge pump too much. On the other hand if the water only get into the bilge when running, it would be difficult trying to figure out. The access hatch sit to low. I could see that when the boat is running, lots of time, part of the hatch would be under water.

I have noticed that the splashwell area of these boats sure takes a lot of water when drifting or even just anchored in the swells. Maybe try sealing that access hatch with something to test your theory. I'm sure there are much better sealed replacement products available than the one that was used by the factory.
