As the title states I have a 2003 Mercury 2cyl, 2 stroke 40hp. Its on a 24' pontoon. The boat idles great and goes fine until I hit 4800 rpm. It then feels like its starving itself out for fuel and will bounce back down to 2000 rpm and I have to back of the throttle and start over. I have cleaned the carb, rebuilt the fuel pump, cleaned the filters and even attempted an external tank. Ive replaced the primer bulb. Im stumped and don't want to spend the $ on a new outboard. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
