2003 8 hp johnson questions

just picked up a 2003 8 hp johnson. is this a reliable and proven motor? does it have any chronic problems notorious to this model. also, it say bombardier on it. what does this stand for. cant find it on google. i was told it's a salt water model but cant find anything about that either. i have it on a 12' v hull alluminum boat. any info will be appriciated.

Bombardier is a French Canadian company that builds jet skis, snowmobiles, ATVs, jet airplanes and other things. In early 2000, Bombardier bought OMC (Outboard Motor Corp.) which builds Evinrude/Johnson motors.

Don't know of any particular problems with that motor. Should be a good little runner.
