Plugs are new this seaspm and only slightly fouled then cleaned and reinstalled. Not getting any spark out of the # 1 cylinder. I will replace the plug and see if this helps. The engine is on a 1703 Trophy center console. My mechanic buddy thinks its the coil, and says he can smell gas that hasnt burned off. Hopefully it can be sorted with a new plug. Still not getting more than 17 kts out of the boat. Any thoughts on possible fixes or where to look. Any idea how much a "coil" costs? Thank you in advance

Swap coils with another cylinder and see if it follows the coil. Cost around $90. Check here first then Sierra.

I just had the same problem losing #1 spark on my 95 model 90HP and it ended up being the switch box. http://www.cdielectronics.com/support/ has good troubleshooting chart to help you find the point of failure. Note: sometimes one component fails and causes another to fail to make sure to follow the steps to check it.
