Afternoon all,

As far as passengers go, what will this boat legally (Great Lakes) accommodate?

Thanks

Re: 2003 Doral 250SE Capacity

Doesn't look like a capacity plate is required for a boat of that length.

Here's what I found at this site: Used 2003 Doral 250 Se, Edwardsburg, Mi - 49112 - BoatTrader.com

  • On vessels with no capacity plate, use the following rule of thumb to calculate the number of persons (weighing 150 lbs. each, on average) the vessel can carry safely in good weather conditions.
Number of people =
vessel length (ft.) x vessel width (ft.)
15
For example, for a vessel 18 feet long by 6 feet wide, the number of persons is 18 times 6 (or 108) divided by 15, which equals seven 150-lb. persons (or a total person weight of 7 x 150, or 1050 lbs.).

My friend s 24ft 04 Maxxum has a plate that says max capacity 12 persons or 1800lbs. you are probably good for the same max weight capacity. I can tell you that a max of 6 is more than enough. I have had 4 adults and 3 boys 11-13 on, w a 5.7 I get on plane but would bot want any more people, boat is not large enough

The capacity plate on my 20' 2" Crownline says 12 people. I would think it should be more that mine.

Re: 2003 Doral 250SE Capacity

Please note that these capacities are based on 150# per person (that is being changed, BTW), and ideal operating conditions. They don't take into account the seating arrangements, elbow room, or operating under less than ideal conditions. I would therefore cut that number, especially on the Great Lakes, where things can get ugly very quickly.
