I have read many posts but never asked question until now.
My 2003 engine 225HP drips oil into the boat every time the engine is raised after use. When I spoke to the dealer, yearsago, I was told it is the residual oil in the carb intakes and is normal. I have been living with it, but its a nuisance(not to mention a mess).
During layup this year I noticed that the cover to the intake has a rubber hose at the bottom (left side looking aft, AKA starboard side). The cover accumulates oil at the lowest point and there is a tube that appears intended to captue and drain oil to somewhere. However, when I poked into the cover it did not appear that there was a drain hole, that is, the rubber tube seemed to be put into a blind tube.
Am I missing something, is the dealer correct that I just have to live with this or is there something wrong.
