2003 horizon 200= do you have to pull the engine to replace the steering cable?

steering cable is very stiff and i do not think ill be able to get behind the engine to remove it from the transom. has anyone done this without removing or at least moving the engine? 4.3 V6

I haven't done it but have disconnected cable for testing. It can be done but if you don't have the room to get to it the motor has to come out

When I replaced my steering actuator, I had to remove the exhaust on both sides to get at the actuator & the cable...not an easy job but my older model has less fiberglass in the way than the later ones...
