I am doing the carbs on a 2003 Johnson 175. (J175PXST)

It's easy so far except theres a white nylon washer that goes under the needle valve seat.
The carbs didn't have this washer before.
Should I put it on or leave it out?
Maybe it goes with a different carb....

Some aftermarket kits have this but no no you should not need them. Installing them will cause you to adjust float drop and level as needle will be actually lower in bowl.

I put them in and bent the float arm down slightly so the float sits level with the face of the carb body. Should I remove the washers and bend the float arms back up or leave it as is?

So should I remove them and bend the float arm back straight? I bent it 1/8" down so the float would sit flush w the carb body.

Those washers were used in the very "early" v-4 & v-6 loopers because the didn't have rings built into the float bowl underneath the seat.
