The above motor was purchased new and has left oil/fuel puddle on the floor after use. After it is ran, it will leave a small puddle of black oily stuff on the garage floor. It runs well, doesn't seem to smoke more than normal, it is not gear lube. Lower unit has been pressure tested, carb has been adjusted by dealer. They are saying it is normal so is merc tech support on phone. Have owned a 1990 and 1964 9.9(8) mercs and have never seen this. Please help!!! Running 50:1 mix.

Yeah the break in is done, following merc manual.

What do you think about Wally World TCW3? Could the quicksilver burn better? I used lubrimatic in my old 90hp evinrude for years without a problem.

I have 2004 Mercury 8 H.p. 2 stroke kicker and it always leaves an oil puddle after use. I am pretty sure it is normal. The 75 H.p. 2 stroke 2004 does not leave a puddle. I guess it is just the smaller Merc. engines?
