Can anyone tell me how to test the low oil alarm and the overheat alarm on a 2003 Mercury 90 HP 2 stroke classic?

At this point, I have no concerns regarding how the motor is running. However, for peace of mind I would like to make sure that both these system are operational.

I purchased this boat/motor combo brand new in 2003 and have never tested these systems.

I used to test the overheat on my old 50 hp 'rude. Would like to do the same on the merc.

It should beep once when turning key from the off position to on, That means oil system has been checked, Or find the alarm wire and ground it to the engine block, It should beep as long as its grounded.

My motor has never beeped nor does it make any mention of the beeps in the owners manual.

I know that older mercs did this. I don't think my is supposed to.

Anyone else?
