Hey all, I'm new to the forum, and was would like to get some help about my Mercury 225 outboard. I purchased my outboard a few months ago after it had sat on a stand outside for about 2 years, and when I bought it, the guy put it in a tank, did compression, and all that good stuff and it seemed to run fine. I had them put it on, and took it out the first time and it seemed to run like a champ. Then a few days ago the 4 beep alarm kept comming on, even when the motor was not running and the ignition was just on. It also had the long overheating beeeeep that would not go off until i restarted the motor, and i felt the water pumping out and it was cool. It did it again and would not go off, and the water was hot. I let it sit a few hrs. then when i headed back in, it over heated after about 10 minutes, and would not let me go over barely into gear, and would go off when i put it in neutral, follwed by the 4 beeps again. Any thoughts about what is going on would be greatly appreciated.
