2003 Sunesta 210 - can’t access fresh water pump

The fresh/potable water pump is on the port side near the fresh water tank next to the engine. The pump likely went bad. But I can’t even wedge myself in there to test it, let alone remove it.

If anyone has any suggestions short of hiring a mechanically inclined child, I’m all ears!

Greetings, welcome to iBoats.

Maybe post a picture (or a few) of the tank & pump. My initial thoughts are to remove the tank to get better access to the pump.

My current boat has a similar situation . . . there is an inverter in the way, so I can barely reach the pump. I had to replace the strainer bowl . . . and tried dieting for weeks leading up to it. :ROFLMAO:

Thanks for the welcome. You can see the pump tucked behind the battery. Removing the battery provided little space.

I may just need to find someone smaller than myself to get in there.

Lay a pillow over the motor. It sometimes helps

Yup . . . tight access. Looks similar to my situation.

I'd be putting pillows and blankets across the engine and battery to get at it.

Just like autos, they are not designed for the repaiman after the fact. Easy assembly is the only requirement !

Didn’t think about pillows. I’ll pull the battery and see if I can get my gargantuan self in there. (No pics of that…)
