2003 Yamaha 115

Hello,
What do you folks think of this motor? A fuel injected 4 stroke with an idle issue. This would be my first boat, ever. I'm 60 years old and would like to explore the local lakes and maybe the delta (California ) and possibly some bay fishing. This looks like an all around rig to me. Please take a look at the link and let me know what you think. I've recently located to Lakeport near Clearlake . It's a great shallow water (less than 50' max) fishing lake but is known for choppy water and wind. I don't plan on being on the water in serious chop but stuff happens quickly. Again I'm a rookie and also a very capable mechanic.

Welcome John,
A Yamaha with fuel injectors is the best motor made. That's a perfect boat for what you want to do.
Never buy a boat if your not going to fix , repair and maintain it. yourself. I'm glad your a capable mechanic.
Never buy a part for your boat until you have tested and found the bad part(s) first, then order the part.
I don't know if that's a fair price, If you buy the boat get a factory service manual and maintance schedule, do all the maintance first, and if it still has a idle problem start testing to find it.
There's diagnostic software on e-bay one guy said it's not complete?
