ok I know this has been best to death. I've been reading a bunch and can't find my answer. If I unhook the cable from the linkage it will shift into forward neutral and reverse, same thing when linkage is hooked up. However if I put it in neutral and spin the prop then try reverse no go until I have someone spin it then it will engage. This Nitro and 115 is a 2004 model with all of about 40 hrs on boat and motor. I bought it off of an employees dad who is 78 he bought it new. linkage is very smooth hooked up and unhooked. The only problem is if you move the prop when in neutral it will then not go into reverse, doesn't matter if the cable is hooked to it or not. same result either way. I might add this just started this past weekend. I've had it now about 2 months.
