Finally spashed yesterday for a few hours of testing. Only able to get to about 4900-5000 a WOT, @ 43 MPH on GPS, trimmed out and light on fuel and equipment on several runs. (170 Proline CC). I am turning a 20 inch SS prop, I plan on trying try my 19 aluminum next trip out.
However I did notice that @ WOT, there is still about a pencil width or a little more, of room left, between the roller and the Throttle cam. Service manual says nothing about WOT adjustment, so before I adjust the throttle cam control link, I thought I would ask here first. If I adjust,to maximize carb opening, do I need to adjust timing as well? Or is there another recommended way to adjust WOT?
Thanks in advance,
Lucky
