2004 200 hp 2.5 mercury steady alarm

Hello ! New here! My 2004 200hp efi engine has a steady beep when turning ignition on without starting it. Checked oil pump and is not that! Checked connections, changed battery (if voltage was bad), checked a lot of things and still haven’t found anything! I am frustrated and the technicians are missing in action . Is a steady beep. I am thinking if the alternator is bad and the system recognizes it! Any suggestions? Thanks and happy new year !

When you turn the switch on it should activate to let you know it's working. When the motor is running and it sounds off then you have an issue.

Check for water if fuel filter....it has a sensor in bottom of it.
