First timer to iboats-

I’m hoping to get some sage advice-just took my 24ft Bentley pontoon out of the lake-and prepared to winterize .

I removed wires and plugs and sprayed fogging oil into cylinders. Went to connect battery to crank engine -reversed the battery cable-just BARELY touched the second terminal-got a spark-pulled alway-then fastened them correctly. Less than half a sec. of contact.

Once properly connected, I had zero power. Checked the throttle to confirm it was in neutral-AOK

I have lights and horn, but not even a click on engine . Continuity checked BOTH inline fuses (10A and 20A, I think)-AOK

Any thoughts on what may have blown?

thanks to all in advance!

What you did will not ruin the starter solenoid, so she would crank. I therefore suspect you do not have power to the ign switch for some reason. Maybe another fuse? Broken wire?

Be aware that she may not have spark, since you switched the batt terminals. That is hard on the ign system. You also could have blown the voltage regulator/rectifier.

Thanks Chris for your help. I did find a frayed red wire (kinda thin but I’ll replace). No other obvious fuses yet but taking another look soon. And I’ll check that regulator if it’s easy to troubleshoot, or simply replace-
