Folks, need to get a good sampling of mercruiser engine problems in regards from 2004 to present. Need to know what the problem was as well. These problems cannot be user caused however. Have something up my sleeve.
Maybe if you gave a little more info on what's up your sleeve, you get some feedback. If it is back to the 3.0 cracked block issue, are you trying to come up with enough info for a suite? If so, your best bet would be to hire a marine engine expert for his opinion on why it cracked.
Anything engine. It seems that everyone on this board knows there are major issues with the block and the manufacturer does not. Or at least it seems they do not.
There are no major issues with the 3.0L block, Mercruiser, Volvo, Marine Power and other marinizers all use the 3.0L engine, and they all come from GM. The block is basically the same as it has been for 40 years.
Cracked blocks come from improper winterization.
If you have a cracked block and want to blame someone, try blaming the ones that winterized your engine. Probably tried to run antifreeze through a raw water cooled system while on muffs.
