Hello All:
I am having troubles with my bilge pump. When I shut the power switch off, the light continues to burn on the bilge pump switch and the bilge pump continues to run. I disconnected the power to the switch, but the pump continues to run. Had to disconnect the batteries to stop it. Any help is appreciated. Redfish Man

Re: 2004 Hurricane 211 bilge pump troubles

I'm assuming that you have already checked and the bilge is not full of water from a leak, which would make the pump run all the time. If the bilge is dry, it sounds like the float in the pump is stuck, or a bad switch in the pump. If yours has the internal float/switch (which I'm guessing you do), then you need a new bilge pump (good news is they are cheap, bad news is they can be a PITA to get to). You might try giving the pump a good rap to see if this will un-stick it, but this will probably be a temporary measure.
