Hello everyone,
I just got my first boat, it's Maxum 2400 SE, 2004. I have difficult time to figure out BOW DOWN and BOW UP, when exactly do i need to udjust it, while I am moving or I need to stop? Also I was wondering, does anyone knows where to get a cover seats for this model? I leave in East Coast. And final question is any good advise or tips on maintaining this boat? I really appreciated for your help. Thank you so much!:)

Major bow down and bow up is used for loading/unloading the boat.

Minor trim of bow down/bow up is used when the boat is underway (on top of the water, not going slow). It's used to force the nose of the boat up or down, but there is an "efficient" range used when cruising.. Too much up or down and you're dragging the drive through the water.

To determine cruise trim, get the boat on cruise, say 30mph. Trim it up or down until the feel the boat "free" up - you'll gain a few miles an hour if you get it right and lose a few miles an hour if you get it wrong.

You may need more down trim when starting off from a stop and then trim up at cruise.

Other reasons to use trim:
1) Porpoising, going through heavy waves.
2) Towing a skier or tube
3) Cruise speed
4) Making lots of turns where you need that prop to "dig"

For maintenance items - Post in the applicable motor/drive forum.

also for making way thru rough water....plows the waves a bit better when you put the bow down instead of pounding the waves on top...'
