Is this a good reliable motor? What is the difference between this and an optimax?

Thanks

Lots of difference. The Opti-Pop is a high pressure direct fuel injection. Block and pistons are similiar. Most of the EFI had good reports. It is the next step up from carbs, so it will be a little more fuel efficient at lower to mid range rpms. If the price is right, go for it. If you can get it for 8-9K, would be a good buy. Make sure it comes with warranty.
After this year most all mfgs will not use year designation, so the could sell it as a new motor (w/new motor warranty)
I just bought a non-current (2006) Honda 225 w/HONDA 5 year non declining warranty for $12,400. Normally sells for over 17K.

I have twin 03" 250 merc efi's on mine and they both run great ,not a single prob in almost 200hrs. Just change plugs and fuel filters and i think you'll do just fine!! But i must say they suck down the gas pretty quick which aint cheap nowadays!
