Ok, I read this often and perhaps there are some semantics at play, but does my 2004 have regulators or rectifiers? This weekend I lost the tach and then had a miss at open throttle. I could run it just fine at about 27mph, but moving the throttle up I got the miss. I switched the tach wire and started the motor and tach is back on. I went ahead and ordered two CDI regulators from Black Bear Sports for $86 each. The part number is 883072 T with the correct plugs and I got the CDI 194-2115K 1 as the replacement. Same part at other sites was as high as $141 The stator wires looked very good with no burns or hot spots so I think the stator is fine. I run a wet cell battery and it does charge fine. Anything else I should be looking for?

I would get a service and repair manual, boatinfo.no/library was not working today, there's WWW911manual.com, or where ever you want to go..
You can do a resistance test and other things on ignition parts to see if there ok before you buy ignition parts. YouTube and CDIelectronics.com explain how to test them, im sure there's more online.
Good for you to shop around, prices vary from site to site..
Do you have a malfunction indicator light the check error codes, or anyway to check error codes, we have twin 2002 they have a blinking light for error code reading.
