I took my boat out for a spin Saturday for the 1st time since mounting this motor on my boat. It ran fine and the tilt trim reacted properly until I got it home to flush it. I raised it up to pull the plug on my boat and was going to put it down to flush the motor but the it wouldn't tilt/trim back down. The motor was making a noise as if it was working but nothing happening for the down placement. The up would work (was making a kind of clanking noise while going up, but it would go up). Now yesterday (Monday) I go out there and climb in the boat and hit the down tilt/trim and it goes down. That's great and all but it would seem to me something is wrong if it didn't go down on Sat but did on Mon. I don't want to me out of the water and this happen. So some troubleshooting advice would be good to see if it's just a maintenance issue. Thanks,

Mike:confused:

I didn't pull the fill plug because I read that it's a sealed system and that if it isn't visibly leaking then there would be no need to add any oil. I guess based on your response it would be best to pull the fill plug and see if it needs oil? I guess a 2 or 3 automatic transmission fluid will work for filling if needed?

Thanks,
Mike
