Guys,
I need some help here. My expertise is in Johnson/Evinrude but I’m trying to help a friend out. I’m trying to remove the powerhead on a 2004 150hp Mercury (blue label saltwater series). I have all the lines(electrical, fuel, etc.) removed and the lower unit removed. I have removed the 2 nuts on the powerhead bolts above the steering arm, the 4 nuts on the 4 long bolts in the center and the 4 nuts on the 4 bolts near the rear for a total of ten powerhead bolts. The power head is splitting from the midsection slightly at the rear but it seams to still be held together at the front. Is there a hidden bolt somewhere or am I missing something. This motor does show some signs of corrosion so I soaked it in PB blaster for weeks before attempting removal. Thanks in advance.
