A good ol' Genmar product... So, the duck/hull joint should be looked over. They were horrible for years, and led to water intrusion into the hull.

Basically, that's a nice package that serves many well. Adequate power. Yammys are quite good. That year does not jump out, so don't think I have any 'stay away' mental notes.

What is it about a 4-stroke I/O that's harder to work on than a 4-stroke outboard? And with either, you can't service the drive end with the boat in the water.

I've owned both- far as I'm concerned they both have benefits and drawbacks. Which boat do you like better?

Arguments might ensue, but wet slipping a boat like that is just a better experience with an outboard.

thanks again for the reply. (wet slipping)? with the outboard i can keep the lower end out of the water when sitting, can't do that with an i/o I guess you right its down to the boat, sea trial will determine

Wet Slipping = sitting in the water when not in use.
