A friend .. of a friend experienced a " VRO" failure while on a fishing tip in the back wilderness of Northern Quebec.

The only way they keep the engine running was by pumping the tank fuel bulb.

He proceeded to order a "new VRO" at $800 + to be safe but the question remains ..

what servicing could be done to restore the old one to top shape. I know little about those VRO other than the fact they mix fuel and oil..... :)

Can he buy a kit or something to fix it up ?

thanks

You can buy rebuild kits for them. Make sure you follow the procedure for bleeding the new pump. And is a good time to change the filter in the oil tank and clean it.

thanks for feedback... I also checking on UTUBE ...seems simple enough

bummer he ordered a new VRO to fix an apparently easy to fix problem....

When you keep a VRO motor running with the manual fuel pump are you getting the proper amount of oil mixed in ??
