2005 25hp 2stroke merc in mint worth this money

I found a 2005 25hp 2stroke merc for $1400 cash on craigslist.Does anyone think that is a good deal as i think it is but would like to here any thoughts and opinions on it?I'm going to take a look at it today so i will see how it looks in person as pics can do wonders for a motor.I actually found a place here in fla that is importing merc/tohatsu 25hp 2strokes the sea pro edition from canada which is a beast and a heavy duty motor for $2850 brand new in the box.i wish i had the extra money that motor is like a piece of gold right now as they have only one left in stock and they are saying they can't get them anymore.They also have 2 30hp 2strokes in the box,long shaft and once they are gone that is it to.

Most of the time motors never look as good in person.I just want to make sure the compression is good,has great water flow from water pump,and has little to almost no corrosion i hope.I'm sure there is faded paint so i want to repaint a motor anyway as merc's phantom black paint is cheap and i have several cans anyway.Ok hope alot of people chime in thanks.
