Do I need to be concerned with the known corrosion issue Yamaha had?
if its a 2005 build, it may not have the "improved" exhaust parts.
With the lower unit removed, a look up inside will give you a good idea of how affected it may be.
You want to see plain sooty black - not lots of white/gray specks
If you are not familiar with the problem, search Google images for yamaha exhaust corrosion.
Still those are great motors - even if needed, the exhaust parts are a simple fix.
