with a 3liter 4 cyl. It came with Volvo 13 1/4 x 21 Al. Works reasonable when empty at low altitudes (4400rpm@40mph gauge), where we holiday. At home (3400 ft) yuh need to row fast to get on plane. Local repair shop near work talked me into 13 1/4 x 17, wrong pitch (32mph guage at 5000rpm) This is a 4 blade SS Merc Trophy Sport. He'll exchange it, but I'm wondering if he is snowing me. On line Mercury lists this prop for outboard fishing boats. I'm looking for a little more pulling power w/o sacrificing a lot of top end. I like my stock Volvo prop in that I can't make it cavitate no how. Any input from those that know?8)

Nauti Trim Tabs Stilletto Bay Pro 11 4 blade prop that really gives a lot of midrange punch 18 or 20 pitch. I had a 20 on a 3.0l 115 and was just a little to much, Maybe you have a 3.0lx could be enough to take a 20 to wot.

The trim tabs make a very big diff out of the hole between the tab's engine and your hull ( more dead rise than my old tub and a 3.0lx with 1.98/1 gears a good 19/20 would be in order.............. You know your gear ratio that might help a few of the guru's in hear. 4400 is a tad low for a 3.0lx though

A Good SS in a 19P sounds best to me...a 20 in 4-blde is the same as a 21 in 3-blde only slower...
Never test empty..always test with the load you will normally have. For altitude, prop for max recommended RPM, not just "in the range"
1" pitch change for every 1500ft above sea-level.
