2005 Honda BF15D goes from idle to fast throttle only

In a nutshell...
2005 Honda BF15D, motor turned over and purred like a kitten but stalled when given gas (put in forward or reverse). Cleaned carb (twice). Now motor starts and runs but goes from an idle to fast throttle only. Suggestions and ideas are much appreciated. I am new at this but learning fast.

Not sure what you mean by "goes from an idle to fast throttle only". Do you mean that when you twist the throttle handle, nothing happens and then it jumps all the way to a fast engine speed? If that is the case, I would see if this happens when you move the throttle arm on the carb directly, bypassing the throttle assembly in the twist handle. If it works fine that way (speeds up smoothly through the range of RPMs) then I'd concentrate on the handle itself. If not... Not sure. Maybe the high speed circuits are still a bit clogged, depending on exactly how you cleaned it - the true experts here always say you have to use true carb cleaner, not the spray can stuff, and do it for like 4 hrs.

My motor has a remote control lever (pontoon boat), but I understand what you are suggesting. The carb was taken off and cleaned twice. Once, it was soaked overnight in a cleaning solution. Looks like it's about to come off a third time and I will check the connection and movement of the throttle at the carb.
