This problem developed last weekend after about 1 hr on the lake. Stopped boat for approx 1hr. Immediately after starting the "Check engine" light turned on continuously (no blinking of error code) and the alarm buzzed for 10 seconds. Water pump was operating just fine. After a couple of minutes the light turned off and all was well. Trailered the boat and went home. Tried starting the engine again at home with the ear muffs on and same scenario. The service manual states that this is a low battery voltage situation sensed by the ECM (under 9 volts). I checked the battery voltage and it's at 13.28vdc.
Note- if the key is turned on but engine is not started, the check engine light still stays on, but there is no alarm unless the motor is started.
I went ahead and replaced the impeller because it is over 2 years old. Not that it has anything to do with this error, but problem still exist.
Any suggestions?
