Boat sat up for about a year and a half without fuel stabilizer before all of this started happening. I would start it every few months but apparently that didn't prevent anything.

I've been having a problem with a loss of power at or around wot. It starts like a champ, idles a little rough but ok, jumps out of the hole FAST runs for a few minutes then drops rpms and about 10mph. I tried pumping the bulb while running with no results. If I stop for a second and take off again it's usually fine for a while then loses power. It's almost like there is a gremlin in the engine limiting the throttle. So far I've changed the plugs, rebuilt the fuel pump, put new gasket kits in the carbs, drained the tank. Since then I've gotten some backfire in the driveway but that may have been there before. I can't say it wasn't for sure. I think this is the 2+2 system and that may be part of it but I'm not really sure and it seemed to run hotter than usual in the driveway. Any ideas on this?
