I have a 2005 50hp 2 stroke on a suntracker party barge that was running great when my dumb azz did something near the fuse panel under the steering dog house and now I have no power to the ignition, the trim and the gas gage. I checked all the fuses and all look ok..

Is there another place were a fuse may be hidding?

The battery has a CB type switch that resets and its good.

I have power to my accessories plug, my radio and lights but no trim at the motor or at the trottle controls and the motor wont turn??????

Also I'm finding out that they don't make wire diagrams for Pontoons?

The fuse panel has no markings on it or anything.

The dead man switch was connected.

Can anyone enlighten me on the ways of the pontoon?

No there ar eno wiring diagrams for boats in general because of the small numbers of each model made.

There are a couple fuses in the engine under the hood, you may have popped one of them but the fuse panel on the boat is for stuff on the boat and not the motor, it has it's own fuses under the cowl.

Thanks for the quick answer. I was hoping it would be something like that. I got towed in and cleaned the boat and put the hose on the muffs but couldnt start it.

I'll pull the cover off tonight and see if I can find the missing link.

thanks again

My '08 has a 20 amp fuse right at the battery as well. Worth a look.

Run a resistance test (OHMS) back from the wire on the battery side. Just go every few feet. As soon as you get an open circuit-the fuse (if blown) will be between where you last checked and got continuity.

Worst case scenario....just run a new fused wire of same gauge rating...and place fuse where you know its easily accessible.

Do not perform this test as you will likely burn up your ohmmeter. As other posters have suggested, you probably have a blown fuse in the cowling.

If it is not that, then post back with as much information as possible, and you will get some other troubleshooting ideas.

OBVIOUSLY...disconnect battery leads 1st....you are simply searching for a broken link in continuity-not voltage.
