Hi everyone, listen I have a problem with my sterndrive and trim and not sure which forum to post the symptoms in, if someone could be so kind as to direct me to the correct forum and/or sub topic. The boat engine starts, but the trim won't raise, it will lower, but not raise, and the drive shaft does not engage when the engine is running.

If you can raise the out drive with the trailer button, then it is probably the trim limit switch on the port side of the outsrive that is the problem. Usually broken-frayed wires.

Tell us a bit more about the other problem

Golf -

I just replied to your PM . . . probably the solenoid on the trim pump. There are 2 of them . . . One for 'up' and the other for 'down'.

Do not mean to msg private, I guess this is just a post and add the persons name you want to see you are responding to there post.

My motor is a merc 4.3 190 HP I/O, the trim won't come up, but I hear it click, the moter starts but the drive itself doesn't engage an turn.
Very odd that both broke at the same time, and yet it ran perfectly the last time I ran it, which was last fall.

Hope to get some help if possible, and thanks and apologize for any private messaging.
