2005 Tracker PT175 (50HP Merc) alarm question

Hello,
I was hoping someone could help me. I just bought a 2005 Tracker boat with a 50ELPT0 motor. I have been doing some mainenance work on the boat. I have been reading that there is an alarm on the boat to signal low oil/over temp.

Is this alarm supposed to go off when you turn the key on (test beep)? Mine does not make any noise when I turn the key on. Is this normal? Or is it supposed to beep?

If it is supposed to, does anyone have any idea how to trace the cause of the problem (test techniques for the alarm module etc.)?

All, just found the answer to my question. Apparently the 50HP 2 stroke does not beep when the key is turned on.
