2005 volvo penta vibration

i have a 2005 volvo penta engine?/ volvo penta sx-m sterndrive same year. Well as my luck goes i hit a stump or some object at low rpms(idle). Bent one blade on prop. Got a new prop, and took it to lake and noticed a vibration between 1100 to 1600 rpms when in gear, Forward and reverse. Checked prop shaft using dial indicator, only moves over 2 of the little marks, thousands?. Not even noticeable to I. Tried it with prop off some vibration but it nowhere near as bad. Could it be the engine or something in sterndrive? And how to check would help.

It could be the ujoints, but I doubt that a low rpm hit would damage them. A more likely problem would be the shaft coupler between the upper gear unit and lower gear unit.<br />They have a tendency to twist when hit that just throws everything off just a little. Thus your vibration at a certain speed.<br />Check it soon, it usually puts all the bearings and gears next to it in a bind.
