Starboard side running hotter than port side. Dealer change out impeller and checked the T-Stat. Tech said that he found a piece of rubber in t-stat causing it to not open fully.
Ran boat all day no problem - flushed engine with fresh h2o via hose connector on lower unit. Felt exhaust manifold and Starboard side still running hotter than Port side. Removed T-stat. on stbd. side and ran - Starboard side cool - port hot (Guess path of least resistance).
Noticed a spacer (#28) on a parts schematic ahttp://www.boats.net/parts/search/Honda/Outboard%20Engine/2006/BF225A6%20LA%20MARINE%20ENGINE%2C%20JPN%2C%20VIN%23%20BAGJ-1400001%20TO%20BAGJ-1499999/EXHAUST%20MANIFOLD%20%2B%20THERMOSTAT/parts.html
Could the problem be that the port t-stat is positioned lower than the stbd t-stat and more h2o flow through port side when running on a hose. My motor does not have the spacer noted in the parts shematic above.
