2006 Four Winns Overheating

New Purchase w/100 hours only. Was trolling the marina 5 minutes. Noticed high pitched sound & temperature gauge was hot. Any ideas what we need?

Is this and I/O or Outboard engine on the 4 Wind?
Need to know so it can get moved to the right forum.

Inboard. We replaced the thermometer. No cigar. We replaced the thermostat. No cigar. We took some oil out. No cigar.

I have a 2003 5.0L that is doing the same thing. I've had it in the shop three times and they still cann't fix it. They replaced the impellor, the impellor housing, thermostat, checked all hoses and clamps. This last time they replaced a $9.15 part and charged me $692.00 labor. If your Knoxville, Tn don't use American Boat Center, but maybe one of these pieces will help you.
