I have a 2006 Mercury 115 EFI on my pontoon. It cranks fine and runs good for a while. It will usually run about 30 minutes before it picks up a slight skip. I back off the throttle to idle for about 10 seconds, then resume cruising at 3500 rpm running smooth. It might skip again or it might run for an hour before it starts again. The problem occurs more often and gets worse the longer we're on the water. Sometimes it will completely shut off but will always crank right back up as it should. I took it to a reputable boat dealership for repair. They said it had a bad coil ( I think) and replaced it. We hit the lake 2 days later disappointed to find the engine doing the same thing. I change the oil, filter, and foot dope at the end of every summer. New air filter every 2 summers. Run only non ethanol gas. I put new fuel filters on it summer before last. The fuel pickup is clean and the fuel line is new. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
