I have a 2006 OptiMax 90hp with less than 500 hours. the bottom cylinder is not firing and I’m at a loss for what to do. It barely starts and doent want to fire. When running its very rough, lots of smoke and gas sheen on the water. Ive unplugged the coils on each cylinder and the bottom cylinder has no effect. When dropping one of the top two cylinders it dies immediately.
so far I have done:
so far I have done:
- new plugs and coils, confirmed spark with test light on plug (waiting on new wires)
- cleaned VST tank
- checked fuel rail pressure - 95psi air and 110 fuel
- check compression - my cheep amazon gauge seems to be low, reading 75psi on bottom and mid cylinder, 60 on top (top was always the low one).
- i know this is an issue but doesnt explain no fire on bottom cylinder
- side note: really just trying to make it thru the summer before a rebuild
- cleaned injectors with carb spray (not a true sonic cleaning) to make sure they open and are flowing fuel.
- swapped injectors on bottom cylinder, no difference.
