2006 reinell gxi-f volvo penta sx drive

ok, my brain is shot and so is my pocket book... i had a 5.0 gxi-f motor that did a freeze job on me and cracked the block so I ended up putting in a new 350 long block... engine run like a kitten but problem is rpm on dash stays at 0... not getting water into block? over heating and have to shut it down. replaced raw water impeller (not needed since old one looked great) and check hoses for leaks and if they were hooked up right.. ok all good... now what?

sorry, might not be clear.. replaced a 5.0 gxi-f block with a 350 long block. engine runs fine. my problems are as follows.... rpm on dash doesn't move when hooked up with earmuffs. on water unknown,,, and temp gauge tops out when i took it for a spin 2 min at best..... i checked the hoses they all are tight and in the right place. i replaced the raw water impeller (didn't need it) and all O rings on injectors. she still running hot? she was running fine before she froze and cracked the block. there is no water leaking under the motor so every thing is tight and good. its almost aug and i can't get even a good run. don't want to damage new block 4k deep and climbing help

another day gone looking on threads looking for answer.. day in day out after work i spend my time looking at the motor going over it inch by inch and nothing changes...grrrrrrr
