So I just got this boat a few months ago and for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the aerators to work, forward or aft. I can get both livewells to fill easy but I can't get the aerators figured out. Called Tracker and they said you just need to pull the red knob out in the livewell. Great, how simple is that? Wrong...Tried it yesterday and it did nothing.
So here is what I see in the livewell, the bottom drain plug, what appears to be the powered drain outlet on the bottom side that has a vented white cap, the white fill valve on the top side along with the red "aerator" that I pulled out. One thing I have noticed on the "powered" drain is that when I turn that switch on nothing happens. I have to use the manual "pull out" drain so something is up there. I'm not sure if the powered drain and aerator are tied together as there is no manual.
I find it odd that when the aerator switch is flipped on, it sounds as though it is the same pump as the fill pump. I hear the pump noise in the back. I'm not familiar with how boat aeration systems work but it is my understanding that it is to aerate the water in the livewell, not to pump in water from outside the boat at intervals, correct? Maybe I'm thinking too much like a fish tank aerator which just bubbles and provides oxygenation to the water?? Any input as to how this system operates would be appreciated. I'm tired of killing all these giant trout I'm catching, lol...
