I replaced the fuel filters today and noticed the carb filter has a small gasket that goes between the filter element and the cap. The dealership said it's only available as part of a entire gasket kit. Does it have to be replaced?
Not especially, it's an added directional element to prevent fuel from seeking past the filter. My idea is if you maintain proper, routine maintenance it's a non issue to reuse of even discard the gasket. Have seen in the past the gasket get partially caught up in the filter
